My Mother

You lay a permanent impression upon my heart,

I owe you more than anyone,

you gave me all I wanted.

You gave me something special,

something that only you gave,

your love, oh mother, is not measurable.

You loved me when i was good,

you loved me when I was bad,

you forgave me every time I asked for it.

You praised me in everything I did,

you just wanted to see me as the shining star,

you made me shine over others.

Life is so much fun when I am around you,

I know I know, I argued, I fought,

but you, you always chose what was best for me.

You know what I am doing,

every second of my life,

you know when I’m lying,

you know when I’m sad,

you know when I’m happy,

You just know what’s happening

to me all the time, because

God put you here for that,

to watch over me

as my guardian angel, and I

will always treasure you

in my heart.

Attitude

It is all about how you think, which affects the circumstances. A problem is not interpreted as
problem does not become a problem. All one needs to do is to have a right attitude.
My experience of having or rather trying to maintain a right attitude has taken me to ladder of
success.
To maintain the right attitude I have synchronized my emotions ,thoughts and action together.
It requires you to become sensitive to your environment and to yourself too.
A right attitude helps you in socializing and developing a great personality too.

Idly, Vada, Sambar

This is an early morning delicacy of many South Indian families. No South Indian restaurent opens without this in their breakfast menu. It is one wonderful combination of health and taste. Freshly steamed idlies, hot, fried vadas, crunchy on the outside and juicy in the inside and a bowl of well spiced sambar. It is a lip smacking, finger licking treat!!

I Resolve

To spread a little gladness
Along the path I walk;
To speak in gentle accents
Whenever I shall talk;
To  tell a friend in trouble
That I can helpful be
And seek to show the stranger
He has a friend in me.
To be remembering others,
Forgetting selfish aim;
To banish thoughts that shadow
The mind with taint of shame.
To hear my conscience whisper
Each night before I rest,
"However much you have stumbled
You have done your very best"

Gems

     In my mother's cupboard, I found a book called "Gem; For Better Living". It was a book filled with short, simple and meaningful poems. I decided to make it a point to read atleast one poem from it every day.
     On further reading, I learnt that the book's initial owner was my uncle (mom's older brother). It is a fifth edition (March, 1978) by Sr Sophia A.C.
